One of our favourite places to send families is The Perth Mint. You might be thinking that we’re crazy right now, but you’ll be surprised how much they love it!
Kate took us up on the challenge, and here’s what she had to say:
“I never thought the Perth Mint would be a family friendly place to visit – but do you know what – it was actually one of the highlights of our trip! It was so kid friendly too! Hubby and I really enjoyed learning about the history and interesting facts and the boys were mesmerised by the gold pour and were welcomed by our lovely tour guide.
The Perth Mint offer a “Kid’s Challenge” where they are given a question “scratch” sheet that they can answer as the tour unfolds. There are two separate age groups which made it really accessible for all ages. Once the tour concluded, the boys were presented with medals by our tour guide – they were so chuffed!”

Top off a big day of exploring with a meal right in the heart of Perth City at Ivy & Jack. Kids Stay & Eat Free for breakfast, lunch and dinner at our restaurant from a special kids menu which they’ll love!
“We loved eating at Ivy & Jack while we stayed at the Hotel Inn Perth City. It was so family friendly
Nothing was too much trouble, the tables were big (so important with clumsy kids), the kids were given fantastic activity packs when we arrived plus kids under 12 eat free if you’re staying at the hotel (conditions do apply). And my boys are pretty fussy but wolfed down their food.
Some of the delicious meals hubs and I ate included Seafood Marinara (which was amazing) and a delicious Beef Burger served on a milk bun with onion rings (washed down with a beer of course).
The boys feasted on Spaghetti Bolognese and Fish and Chips. They loved the spaghetti so much they ordered it two nights in a row! We loved that the kids were served on colourful plastic plates with their own colourful cutlery too. It’s the little detail.” – Kate
Offer: All kids under 12 years of age eat free when dining with an adult. Two kids eat free per one adult.
