About the Holiday Inn Brand

Holiday Inn Hotels & Resorts® was founded in 1952 by Kemmons Wilson after a family vacation led him to discover the lack of family friendly hotels. Immediately he set to work creating a brand that would be recognised for its diversity and family values, and within 10 years his brand had grown across 400 hotels. To this day there are 1,218 Holiday Inn Hotels & Resorts® worldwide.

Kemmons’ biggest influence on the Holiday Inn brand, was that he believed children should not incur an extra cost. This lead to the creation of Kids Stay & Eat Free, which is a key aspect of the brand to this day.

About Holiday Inn Perth City Centre

Holiday Inn Perth City Centre came to life following a rebrand in the 1980s of the original 1969 Town House building. During this rebrand, Holiday Inn took over the space of the old Town Cinema and later in 1996 the Murray Street wing addition was built to match the growing demand for accommodation in Perth. A recent refurbishment in 2016 lead to a revitalisation of rooms, restaurant and lobby, resulting in a stylishly appointed 4 star inner city hotel. During refurbishment, the new restaurant was located in the space of the old Town Cinema and named Ivy & Jack in homage to the main characters in the first film ever screened.

Our central Perth city location makes Holiday Inn Perth City Centre the preferred accommodation for business travellers, holidaymakers and staycation’s. Perth’s best shopping, experiences and attractions are within walking distance of the accommodation. Alternatively, a free CAT bus stops right outside Holiday Inn Perth City Centre and the Perth Train Station and Bus Port are less than 5 minutes’ walk.

Kemmons Wilson once said “Although there are hundreds of languages in the world, a smile speaks all of them. In fact, a smile is a curve that can set a lot of things straight”. As a family friendly hotel we realise that little ones want to be recognised too, which is why we initiated the Very Important Kids Program; a collection of colouring in, stickers and local discounts to Perth’s best experiences and attractions. Our VIK Program will keep the little one’s entertained for a few moments of peace.
