We’ve had a look at the Fringe World program (all 134 pages of it!) and narrowed it down to our favourite must see shows. Expect show stopping comedy, jaw dropping flame throwing performances, drag, family friendly shows and more! Comedy Hypnotist Matt Hale: Random Acts of Mindfulness
Are you a Hypnotist critic or a believer? Matt Hale will have you in stitches during his hypnosis comedy and have you leaving as a real believer! Formerly radio personality and TV presenter for Channel 9’s Destination WA, Matt Hale brings his charismatic energy to Fringe World.

Bald man sings Rihanna
Ever seen a bald man sing Rihanna? Now’s your chance. Gary Sansome’s show is back for the fourth Fringe year in a row, for a night full of pop culture, comedy and improvisation.

Mums Gone Wild
The title says it all. We’re getting real about life as mums, and if the reviews from Perth mums themselves are anything to go by – you’re in for a ride: “I’m not afraid to admit, I laughed so hard a tiny bit of wee came out”, “I had to cross my legs through the show” and “Laughed until my episiotomy scar hurt and makeup was running down my face”.

Comma Sutra
Are you a grammar Nazi at heart? Are you literally so sick of people saying literally in literally every sentence? Then this is the show for you! Join Louisa Fitzhardinge at her grammatical comedy for the nerdiest time of your life.

CABARET

Bernie Dieter’s Little Death Club
Join award winning superstar Bernie Dieter and her Little Death Club of misfits as they perform to a gin-soaked, Weimar-punk jazz band. Expect fire-breathing, sword swallowing, inappropriate acts in this “wickedly funny, deliciously defiant punk cabaret”(Fest, 2019).

Disney in Drag: Once Upon a Parody
Disney lovers, this is the show for you, but beware – your childhood memories may never recover. An evening of dark humour, adult fantasies and plenty of Disney references.

YUMMY UNLEASHED
Winning ‘Best Cabaret’ in Fringe World 2019, and many years of sold out shows you can rest assured that YUMMY is the ultimate Fringe World show. Expect “outrageous drag and burlesque with scintillating choreography” from their YUMMY UNLEASHED SHOW… or if you’re feeling naughty, try their YUMMY UP LATE show.

Perth icon Tony Galati finally has the respect he deserves, with his very own musical. The hilarious and inspirational tale about Australia’s favourite potato man returns after a hit run at 2019 Fringe World.

Acting up, Singing out and Dancing Around
Keep the kids entertained this school holidays with acting, singing or hip hop classes at Fringe World.

Enchantments by Pierre Ulric
The greatest magic show in this world and beyond! Watch Pierre Ulric as he performs spells, potions, levitations and more! Enjoy a 45 minute live show and 45 minute Q&A session.

Mermaids (free)
The Mermaids at the splash zone are a crowd favourite each year at Fringe World. Guaranteed to add a little bit of magic to every child’s (or even adult’s) evening.

City of Perth Fringe Sundays
Still don’t know what to watch at Fringe World? City of Perth has partnered up with Fringe to bring teasers from some of the best shows to you for free! The teasers are family friendly and conveniently located near the main box office at Yagan Square.

The Pleasure Garden
If you’re looking for some good of summer fun and a way to spend those balmy nights in Perth City then The Pleasure Garden is for you. Buy a drink from the bar, sit down and relax to the free entertainment and sounds of buskers. The Pleasure Garden is the perfect way to start or end a great night of Fringe World shows.
